Ras B Ssali is a passionate Ugandan cyclist and cycling advocate who has played a significant role in promoting cycling as a sport, lifestyle, and tool for social transformation in Uganda. Beyond his well-known career as a reggae artist, he has consistently used cycling to advance fitness, environmental awareness, and community engagement. Through organized group rides, awareness campaigns, and collaboration with cycling communities and institutions like Makerere University, Government (Kampala City Authority, Ministry of Works and Transport, Ministry of Health) he has contributed to building a vibrant cycling culture in Uganda. His efforts have helped position cycling not only as a sport but also as a platform for advocacy in road safety, environmental conservation, and active living

King Patrick is a dedicated Ugandan cyclist, cycling advocate, and endurance rider who has actively contributed to the growth and promotion of cycling as a sport, mobility solution, and platform for public health and community engagement in Uganda. He has participated in and led several long-distance cycling expeditions across Uganda using cycling as a tool to promote road safety awareness, tourism and active lifestyles. His endurance, leadership, and commitment to advocacy have positioned him as a respected figure in Uganda’s cycling movement, inspiring others to embrace cycling for fitness, adventure, environmental sustainability, and community transformation.

Eddie Okila is the Club Secretary of Fun Cycling Uganda, a leadership and fitness coach who serves as the primary spokesperson and strategic planner for the organization. His most significant achievement was orchestrating the clubs 360km endurance ride from Kampala to Kasese in August 2024, where he successfully elevated the club's public profile by framing the event as a tourism and health advocacy initiative, facilitated international solidarity by welcoming Kenyan cyclists to join the final leg, and demonstrated his ability to align the club's activities with broader national goals of promoting sustainable transport and showcasing Ugandas landscapes. &

Richard is an avid recreational cyclist who’s passionate about harnessing the incredible power of cycling to promote physical fitness, cardiovascular health, fun and adventure, tourism, social networking, road safety advocacy, and supporting community development programs and charity initiatives.
He joined FCU in 2022 following the COVID-19 lockdown during which cycling was the only safe and permissible mode of transport.

Brian Ishingyiro is an experienced cyclist with a deep understanding of local terrain and a passion for community building. Brian is responsible for designing diverse, safe, and engaging routes while maintaining a balanced annual calendar of social, competitive, and developmental events. He is an advocate for both cycling and sustainable energy. A notable example is August 2024, when he led Fun Cycling Uganda team on a multi-day, 360km ride from Kampala to Kasese to participate in the Rwenzori Marathon, he was responsible for keeping the group rolling despite the challenging terrain. He also shares his local knowledge of mountain bike trails on platforms like Komoot. His dual career in renewable energy technology and bicycle mechanics positions him as a practical advocate for sustainable transport and active lifestyles.

Membership Secretary

As the Membership Secretary, Chris plays a central role in strengthening the organization’s membership base, fostering inclusivity, and ensuring effective coordination among cyclists, partners, and stakeholders. Chris has also developed valuable proficiency in the Chinese language, this skill enhances FunCycling Uganda’s ability to engage with Chinese cycling communities, partners, sponsors, and visitors. His language competence supports international collaboration, cultural exchange, and promotes Uganda as a cycling tourism destination to Chinese-speaking audiences.

Oyita Richard

Treasurer

Oyita Richard is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and serves as the Club Treasurer of FunCycling Uganda, where he oversees the organization’s financial management and accountability. With a strong background in finance, auditing, and financial planning, he ensures transparency, proper resource utilization, and compliance with financial policies and regulatory standards. Beyond his financial leadership, Oyita Richard is also an active and passionate cyclist whose cycling adventures are well documented on Strava. Through his consistent rides, endurance challenges, and exploration of diverse routes across Uganda, he demonstrates personal commitment to the cycling lifestyle.
